Murano Island

Murano They called it the fiery island because of the numerous furnaces in which, according to a secret known only to them, they melted an alchemical mixture to produce glass products that became the property of mankind and made the island famous.

A valuable collection of glass is housed in the Museum, which occupies the ancient Giustinian Palace.

The Church of Saint Mary and Donatus contains the oldest marble floor mosaic in Laguna, dating back to 1142, which, when deciphered, can reveal how people lived more than a thousand years ago.
