Non-tourist Venice

Dorsoduro District

the most non-tourist and full of attractions that you will not read about in any guidebook.

Along picturesque embankments without shop windows or shops, we will look into hidden gardens and see the real structure of ancient Venice, a small corner of which has been preserved in this area.

We will see where the townspeople brought secret denunciations and how they fought for cleanliness and safety, creating one of the most beautiful, clean and peaceful cities in Europe. For lunch we will visit one of my favorite restaurants. After lunch we will visit a descendant of the oldest family - an interesting conversationalist who is passionate about history. One of his ancestors was the glorious Doge and the legendary seafaring brothers who, a century before Columbus, reached the shores of North America. He will personally show us his family palace with frescoes by Venetian masters of the 18th century. In the evening we will look into a gondola making workshop, see how they are built at an old shipyard and visit a wood carver's workshop where oars and rowlocks are made.

Cannaregio area

This is a quiet area, the architecture of which is imbued with the East. Titian, Tintoretto, Guardi, Marco Polo and the Venetian Moors lived here. We will visit the house where Titian lived and find out what this house is like now. We will see the house where Tintoretto lived.

On this day there will be a lot of paintings by these outstanding artists and, perhaps, we will understand where they got their inspiration from. Here is the world's first Jewish ghetto and we will learn its history, see the first high-rise buildings in Europe and the most beautiful synagogue in Europe.

Well, a delicious lunch in one of the taverns of my friends will be one of the most vivid memories of your stay in Venice and our excursion.
