Thousands of books have been written about Venice. Even more guidebooks. Dozens of tours take place here every day. But despite all this, for years I've had the feeling that Venice is often looked at with little understanding. how it works.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Photos of facades.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And very rarely the question:<\/p>\n

Why exactly so?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2014 Why don\u2019t palaces sink into the water?<\/p>\n

\u2014 Why did Venice have two symbols?<\/p>\n

\u2014 Why is St. Mark's Square the only one? piazza<\/em> in Venice?<\/p>\n

\u2014 Why did the state trust the recommendation only of someone who was responsible for it with his own reputation?<\/p>\n

These questions are rarely asked during a regular tour.<\/strong><\/h4>\n
